Little Heart London and littleheart.london are operated by author Rani Rajan. For any personal data that Rani decides how and why to use, Rani Rajan is the data controller.
This notice describes the website as it works today. It will be reviewed whenever a new feature changes how visitor information is handled.
Information the website does not ask you to provide
The website does not currently ask visitors for a name, email address, postal address, profile, login, comments, photographs, payment details or health information. It does not send marketing emails, create visitor accounts or maintain a visitor database.
References to hospitals, mental health, renal care and wellbeing are part of the novel and its fictional reflective experiences. Visitors are not asked to submit information about their own health.
Device-only Little Heart progress
The A Little Heart experience uses browser storage to remember one item: the number of little hearts collected on that device. The value is not connected to a name, account or profile, and the site does not send it to Rani Rajan.
It remains in that browser until you clear it using the Clear saved hearts control in the heart collection, clear the browser’s site data, or use a browser setting that removes it.
Hosting and essential technical information
OpenAI hosts and operates the ChatGPT Sites service used to deliver this website. Like other hosted websites, the service and its security providers may process technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as network, device, request and security information.
Rani Rajan has not added visitor analytics, advertising trackers or a separate analytics database and does not receive a visitor profile from the website.
Cookies and similar technologies
The website does not add cookies for advertising, marketing or visitor analytics. The hosting service may use strictly necessary technologies to deliver and secure the site. The Little Heart progress value described above is stored locally in your browser so the feature can remember your collection.
YouTube and other external websites
Music videos are embedded using YouTube’s privacy-enhanced domain. A video is not loaded when you first open the gallery: the website first asks whether you want to load it. If you choose to play it, your browser connects to YouTube and Google may receive technical information or use its own technologies under its privacy terms.
Links to Amazon and other external resources open websites controlled by those organisations. Their privacy practices apply after you follow those links. Book purchases take place on Amazon; this website does not receive or process your payment-card information.
Why information is processed
Any limited technical processing is used to provide, protect and maintain the website. The heart total is used only to provide the progress feature requested by the visitor. YouTube is contacted only after the visitor chooses to load a video.
Where UK GDPR applies to processing controlled by the website operator, the relevant basis is the operator’s legitimate interest in providing and securing the website, or the visitor’s clear choice when requesting optional third-party content such as a YouTube video. No personal data is used for direct marketing.
Sharing, retention and international processing
